Teaching is a profession of passion, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of your physical wellbeing.
As educators, you dedicate yourselves to shaping the minds of the future.
However, the physical demands of teaching can often take a toll on your body, leading to common issues such as neck, shoulder, and lower back pain.
These musculoskeletal problems are not just minor inconveniences; they can significantly impact your quality of life, teaching effectiveness, and professional longevity.Â
We can deliver bespoke training for the whole school on sitting, standing, moving well, neck and shoulder pain and lower back pain

Musculoskeletal Pain In Teaching Is A Widespread But Overlooked Crisis
Recent studies have shown that musculoskeletal pain is alarmingly common among teachers.
In fact, in China:
68.9% of teachers report experiencing neck pain,
73.4% suffer from shoulder pain,
59.2% deal with lower back pain.
These high prevalence rates highlight the urgent need for addressing physical wellbeing in the teaching profession.Â

Globally, the picture is distressing too, with 68% of teachers experience musculoskeletal pain.
In our experience from the work we have done so far the rates are even higher:
- 92% of teachers have never received any SUPPORTÂ in moving well during their initial teacher training and within the schools .
- 70% of the teachers that we have worked with so far have never received any kind of TRAININGÂ in how to take care of their physical wellbeing.
- And recent research for early years teachers tells an even gloomier picture of 98% experiencing daily pain in this study.

Musculoskeletal pain doesn't just affect your physical health; it has far-reaching consequences on your professional and personal life.
Chronic pain can lead to:

Increased Absenteeism
Teachers with chronic pain are more likely to take sick leave, leading to disruptions in the learning process and additional stress for colleagues.

Reduced Teaching Effectiveness
Pain can distract you from your teaching, making it harder to focus and engage with students.

Decreased Quality of Life
Persistent pain can affect your mood, energy levels, and overall enjoyment of life, making it difficult to maintain a positive outlook.
